As per the list of threatened species from the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), three species (A. gabonensis, A. stuhlmannii and A. ulugurensis - the last two endemic to the Eastern Arc Mountains of Tanzania) are considered vulnerable in status, due to habitat loss and degradation and/or small initial population areas. Planting Allanblackia for oil production and to restore degraded landscapes can help to protect this indigenous species and preserve local biodiversity.
